Oboz Ignition II Lights Up the Trails

Trail running shoe's design highlights excellent fit

Oboz-the outdoor footwear company based in Bozeman, Montana-offers the Ignition II, an all-around trail running shoe that also has a can-do attitude for hiking, scrambling and kicking around outdoors. The Ignition II's stretch mesh bootie design, with an independent synthetic leather cage over top, gives the shoe an exacting midfoot hold and helps keep trail detritus at bay. The Ignition II retails for $95.00 and is available in gender-specific fit and colors.

Quality starts inside the Ignition II with a running-specific insole that features three different densities of foam designed to lessen impact upon heel strike, give firm support through the arch, and cushion the forefoot. Underneath, a full-length pattern of raised dots helps dissipate impact.

Below the foot, the Ignition II features durable, non-marking high friction rubber, with lugs arranged in an asymmetrical pattern that complements the foot's flex and ensures excellent traction. Two densities of EVA in the midsole blend cushioning and stability, along with a high density 'super skin' sheet that wards off the impact of rocks on the foot. A three-dimensionally molded heel clip helps stabilize the foot when it strikes the ground. The Ignition II is a neutral trail running shoe suitable for anyone not requiring extra foot stabilization.
