Fast Alerts Means Quicker, More Informed Responses

Early warning capabilities of Ovation's digital signage solution are a sound precaution.

Public safety is a chief concern for special districts like schools and hospitals. Administrators need to be able to quickly and easily communicate with staff as well as those persons under their care and supervision.

Old-fashioned bell alarms can signify to a general public a serious situation is at hand and that caution must be taken. But while the bells indicate something is wrong, they miss the mark on truly informing decision-making because of the lack of context and suggested next course of action. Without these key indicators, confusion and panic may cloud the otherwise good judgment of those within range of the alarm.

For organizations using Ovation Interactive's digital signage solution, the speed and reach of time-sensitive messaging (physical geography and audience penetration), can be dramatically improved through digital emergency alerts.

In the event of an emergency, an administrator can initiate the play of a pre-prepared emergency alert message. The messages may be deployed to screen(s) located in the affected area(s) as necessary to ensure proper safety measures are taken by those at risk. Alerts may be created to address the topics of tornado, hurricane, security threat, fire, or other scenario-based concern and loaded into the system's available content library. Should it become necessary, a signage administrator could perform a few simple mouse clicks to start the alert, overriding pre-programed content and running continuously until disengaged. The alert layout may either be a full-screen static JPG image or a crawl along the bottom of the screen.

Ovation anticipates the added safety feature will appeal particularly to leaders of health care organizations, academic institutions, and entertainment venues. The feature, however, will be available to all client partners.
