Patient Education Heightened With Digital Signage Content

Successful Trial Program Leads to Full Roll-Out for Planned Parenthood of San Diego & Riverside Counties (PPSDRC)

Planned Parenthood strives to provide its patients with the latest information about reproductive health care. Considering the shift in media consumption habits and factoring the profile of their primary audiences, the organization is incorporating emerging channels into their marketing plans. New outreach channels include social media and content marketing with digital signage.

Extending their communications reach to empower and positively affect the decision-making process for young women and men is a critical component of Planned Parenthood's success. Ovation Interactive is pleased to help support their mission of affordable, accessible reproductive health care for all women. Digital signage - specifically, the right content - can inform and educate patients in a non-threatening, reality-based way.

Earlier this year, PPSDRC, which serves the San Diego and Riverside Counties areas of California, tested the effectiveness of patient-directed messaging with digital signage in three of their area clinics.

Collective feedback from patients and visitors, staff, and administrators has been very positive, leading to a full scale roll-out for the group.

"Ovation Interactive's digital signage technology has turned our waiting rooms into education centers, proving patients with entertaining and enlightening information about sexual health and safety," said Rebecca Karpinski, Vice President of Strategy Management, PPSDRC

PPSDRC, with three Ovation systems in place already, is in the process of installing twenty-one additional systems to complete a signage network for their service territory.

The Ovation systems include 42" HD monitors by LG Electronics and versatile and programmable digital media players manufactured by Corn Digital.

Content includes syndicated content focused on sexual health issues, popular music video, and news about local community events.
