Versatile actor stars in multi-genre television and film projects, ranging from comedy and drama to action and animation

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 13, 2012) -- Actor Michael Jai White returns to the spotlight this summer, showcasing his versatile talent as the star of two television series on cable.  First up for Michael is “Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse,” the new top-rated sitcom based on Perry’s box office hit “Why Did I Get Married?” movies, that had a 10-episode debut last November to much success.  TBS ordered 35 additional episodes of the series, which begins airing brand-new back-to-back episodes on Friday, July 13th at 9 pm ET.  Two days later, Michael stars as the title character in the premiere of “Black Dynamite,” the new animated series based on the critically-acclaimed 2009 feature film that he co-wrote.  “Black Dynamite” debuts Sunday, July 15th at 11:30 pm ET on Adult Swim.

In “For Better or Worse,” Michael portrays Marcus Williams, a former professional football player turned sportscaster, married to hair salon owner Angela (played by actress Tasha Smith).  An entertaining mix of comedy and drama, the show centers on the couple’s complicated marriage as they struggle with various relationship issues.

In “Black Dynamite,” Michael stars as voice talent and also co-produces the 30-minute animated series, which follows the exploits of the 1970’s Renaissance man.  Black Dynamite is a lover and a fighter, with a kung-fu grip, who is not afraid to leap before he looks.
