PERSPECTIVES AUTHORS TAKE THEIR BOOK ON THE ROAD IN SERIES OF DEBATES

Jason Miletsky and Michael Hand Square Off in Marketing Smackdowns

Totowa, NJ (June 11, 2009) - Jason Miletsky, eight-time author and CEO of PFS Marketwyse, a marketing and communications agency located in Northern New Jersey, and Michael Hand, Vice President, Strategic Planning at IMG, who has over 15 years experience on the client side for some of America’s biggest and most powerful brands, including The Hershey Company, The Miller Brewing Company and BMW North America, will square off in series of head-to-head debates on topics in their new book, Perspectives on Marketing (Course Technology PTR, $29.99).

The Marketing Smackdowns will be moderated by best selling author of Putting the Public Back in Public Relations, Deirdre Breakenridge. The first Marketing Smackdown will be held at the Clifton Commons Barnes & Noble in Clifton, NJ on Thursday, June 25, 7:00 PM. The rematch will be hosted by the Brandhackers Meetup group on at Legends, 6 W33rd Street in Manhattan (Date to come).

Written in question/answer format, Perspectives on Marketing examines over 100 compelling and important issues that affect marketing professionals on a regular basis, such as how to best measure ROI, how to determine the best means for reaching an audience, and how to craft the most effective message. The authors were not permitted to collaborate during the writing process, providing candid insights that are both thought provoking and enlightening.

“When I read the finished book for the first time, and finally saw what Mike had to say juxtaposed to what I had written, I immediately wanted to respond and felt Mike probably had the same reaction,” said Miletsky. “Then it hit me, we have to take Perspectives on the road and do this live.”

The co-authors will also field questions directly from the audience, allowing a rare opportunity to get first-hand advice from two marketing experts.
