Carl's Jr. Keeps Summer Going With New Hawaiian Grilled Chicken Salad
Teriyaki Burger and Chicken Sandwich Inspire New Salad Entree
07.21.2010 – CARPINTERIA, Calif. - Carl’s Jr.® is kicking its summer menu up a notch with the introduction of its Hawaiian Grilled Chicken Salad, now available at all Carl’s Jr. restaurants.
Showcasing the flavors of the Islands, just as the Carl’s Jr. Teriyaki Burger and Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich did before it, the new Hawaiian Grilled Chicken Salad features grilled and sliced chicken breast meat, grilled Dole® pineapple, fresh red onion and cucumber slices on a bed of mixed spring salad greens, topped with Asian sesame dressing and wonton strips.
“The Carl’s Jr. Hawaiian Grilled Chicken Salad is unique in the world of fast-food salads and it’s perfect for the hot days of summer,” said Brad Haley, executive vice president of marketing at Carl’s Jr. “The grilled chicken breast, grilled pineapple, fresh produce and Asian sesame dressing together create a delicious flavor combination. It’ll bring a taste of the tropics to our guests no matter where they live.”
The addition of pineapple to its entrees is not new to Carl’s Jr. In 2007, it was the first major fast-food restaurant chain to offer a teriyaki burger with grilled pineapple – something previously only found in sit-down burger restaurants. “Carl’s Jr. has become known as the fast-food place where the public can find the same kind of burgers, sandwiches and salads they previously could only get at more expensive, sit-down restaurants,” added Haley. “The Teriyaki Burger, the Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich and now the Hawaiian Grilled Chicken Salad are delicious examples of that philosophy.”
The Hawaiian Grilled Chicken Salad is available at Carl’s Jr. for $4.99. Prices may vary by location.
