PitchEngine Announces Support for Traditional Press Release Cross Links

New service for creating and hosting Social Media Releases and Newsrooms opens doors in response to BusinessWire's banning of PitchEngine links in press releases

PitchEngine, a new social platform that enables PR to effectively package stories featuring social content to better collaborate with journalists, bloggers and influencers worldwide, announced their support of links to traditional press releases distributed by PR wire service providers.

PitchEngine's flagship Social Media Release (SMR) product is designed on an open platform where currently, more than 6,000 brands create and share social PR content. Within these SMRs, users have the opportunity to cross-link to various resources that help their readers learn and discover more information about a particular topic, event or company.

"It's been brought to our attention on several occasions that Business Wire is blocking their users from including PitchEngine SMR links in their traditional press releases," said Jason Kintzler, Founder and CEO of PitchEngine.

"This is unfortunate as it takes away from the spirit of the social web," said Kintzler.

PitchEngine supports links to all other services in an effort to co-exist with more traditional means of media relations.

"We believe there are times when traditional distribution is still necessary, especially in the financial sector," said Kintzler.

To date, PitchEngine users have been allowed to embed links to their SMRs into press releases distributed by other services including PR Newswire and Marketwire.
