Among other responsibilities, a CPP is required to:
Mobilize her/his community to build and sustain vital prevention initiatives for areas including alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, suicide, as well as promotion of community wellness.
Assemble a community coalition to achieve prevention goals using evidence-based strategies.
