BC3 dedicates portrait of Diane M. DeCarbo

(Butler, PA) Butler County Community College held a dedication ceremony and revealed a portrait of Diane M. DeCarbo in the lobby of BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing in Union Township on Wednesday, June 15. Diane served as the Director of BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing and passed away on March 2.

Diane's family, and friends and college coworkers gathered for remarks by Bill O'Brien, Vice President of Continuing Education and Off-Campus Sites, and Dr. Nick Neupauer, BC3 President. Diane's husband, Ricky DeCarbo, along with Bill O'Brien revealed the portrait. The ceremony was followed by a luncheon.

"Diane's dedication to our mission and our hard-working students could never be recognized enough," President Neupauer said. "I am pleased that this portrait of Diane will forever recognize her outstanding contributions over the years."

Diane worked for Butler County Community College for 27 years and was the Director of BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing. Diane received numerous awards including the Certificate of Professional Development in 2006 and the Outstanding Service and Community Achievement Award in 2009. Diane's affiliations in Lawrence County included Adult Literacy, Career, and Technical Center Advisory Board; CareerLink; Chamber of Commerce; Council of Community Services; Economic Development; Industrial Training; School to Work; Tourism; United Way; Employer Advisory Council; West Central Job Partnership; Lawrence County Leadership; and the State Regional Correction Facility Mercer Vocational Advisory Council. Diane held both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts from Slippery Rock University.

"Citizens of Lawrence County, specifically New Castle, have one person to thank for higher education in its backyard; Diane DeCarbo," President Neupauer said.
