Woodland Park Playground opened to a crowd on Sunday

(Sheridan, Wyo) – A thin blue ribbon was the only thing holding the crowd back. John Holst, outreach coordinator for the Real Life Church, held out a pair of scissors and, after a dramatic pause, sliced through the symbolic barrier. More than twenty kids of all ages dashed across the new pea gravel to be the first to try out the equipment.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new playground at Woodland Park Village was the culmination of a special Sunday service by Real Life Church “Lead Planter” Ryan Charest. There was also live music by Greg Green and Ellen Goode, as well as an opportunity, for all who wished, to take communion.
As children played on the playground, hot dogs started coming off of the grill and the bouncy house was inflated. The improvement over the broken-down playground which had previously occupied the site is remarkable. The merry-go-round is, in fact, the same one which has always been there, but it has been beautifully repaired and restored. The kids certainly seemed to approve!
