Tulsa, Okla. – Just Between Friends Franchise Systems, Inc., North America’s leading children’s and maternity consignment event, is pleased to announce it has been named to Forbes Magazine’s list of top franchises in the United States. The magazine ranked franchises in three categories based on franchise and start-up fees:
- Category 1: Franchises between $0 and $150,000.00
- Category 2: Franchises between $150,001 and $500,000.00
- Category 3: Franchises $500,001 and higher
The Forbes Magazine ranks Just Between Friends Franchise Systems, Inc. at number eight in the first category. The total investment to launch a JBF franchise is between $28,000.00 and $40,000.00.
There are more than 3000 franchise brands in the United States. A company called FRANdata developed the ranking system to whittle down the list to the “best of the best”. They eliminated any company with less than 20 franchises. Secondly, they review each franchise’s growth from 2008 to 2012. Just Between Friends franchised in 2004 and experienced incredible growth between 2008 and 2012. They have more than 140 franchises in 29 states and last fall they expanded into Canada.

FRANdata also considered the following criteria: demand for the franchise brand, success of existing franchisees, franchisor support and “lender friendliness” and the company’s transparency. They whittled down the list and less than 300 franchises made the cut for each category. There are 268 franchises on the list in the first category and JBF ranked #8.
Just Between Friends organizes children’s and maternity consignment events and franchises are typically locally owned and operated. Each franchise organizes two or three sales a year and families from the community sign up as consignors to sell new and gently used items their families have outgrown or never used. The consignors earn 60 to 70 percent of the sale price and the remaining amount goes to the franchisee to cover the cost of organizing the sale. In addition, each franchise supports at least one local charity with donations.
