About the Arts at The Walker School
As early as Pre-K, students at The Walker School find themselves on-stage in dramatic performances and seated in a studio creating thoughtful works of art. Throughout their time at the school, students have the opportunity to explore the arts under the direction of a group of educators who are practicing painters, sculptors, musicians, writers, and directors themselves.
Students who pursue the arts at the upper school level have the opportunity to become involved in gallery exhibitions in and outside of Walker, in musical and dramatic festivals and competitions, and in Advanced Placement courses within any artistic field. Overall, the Walker Fine Arts department provides many avenues through which students may expand their creativity and infuse their own personal voice into their art, helping them gain a greater understanding of themselves and the world in which they live.
