All camps are completely free of charge for campers and their families, thanks to charitable donations. While at camp, children get a chance to laugh and play, and try all types of activities including fishing, crafts, archery, horseback riding, theatre and much more.
1in9 is committed to ongoing fundraising efforts and recruiting volunteers to help host this annual weekend camp, with a goal to increase attendance each year, allowing more children from Arizona and other states/countries to participate.
Chronic kidney disease affects 26 million Americans; that is 1 in every 9 adults, and most don’t even realize it. The goal is to create hope and change the trajectory of kidney disease. The 1in9 movement also includes a documentary that will chronicle Raymond Scott’s 18-year journey, from kidney failure starting at the age of 29 through today — and follow Raymond and his wife Analyn as they travel and speak to groups across the United States.
“1in9 is excited to partner with Camp Soaring Eagle to provide children with kidney disease an opportunity to develop friendships and a broader support system with their peers in a safe and fun camp environment,” said Analyn Scott.
1in9 is on a mission to change the trajectory of kidney disease by igniting a worldwide movement to promote awareness and prevention campaigns, as well as support expedited research and development of treatment options being developed in the field of Regenerative Medicine.
