Chances are you will probably get hungry but it can be a major challenge trying to figure out where to eat. Do you simply head to the closest food court or take a short walk to a little gem tucked away from the crowds?
To make your dining choices a lot of easier, PlanetEye asked its local experts to recommend the best places to eat at more than 40 airports around the world.
If you’re lucky enough to be traveling through Hong Kong, our local expert, Ed Hahn, reports there are 66 places to grab a bite to eat. Hong Kong International Airport “has the widest range and largest number of eating establishments in one place, I''ve ever seen,” he wrote.
If you are going through Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport, local expert Jessica Tamturk reports you are in for a pleasant surprise.
“There are lots of options from the ubiquitous refreshment stands -- or kiosks in Turkish -- and branches of global java giants to a compilation of international fast food stands, and even a few typically Turkish brand diners.”
At New Orleans’ Louis Armstrong International Airport, local expert Su-Jit Lin is enthusiastic about Sonic, which serves up sumptuous hamburgers, fries, hamburgers and hotdogs, as well as sandwiches and all-day breakfast.
On the other hand, don’t expect to be dazzled by the cuisine at Aeroporto Marco Polo in Venice. Local expert Bradley Harden says the dining choices feature less-than-impressive pizza and a few pasta choices.
And at Rio de Janeiro’s Galeá£o International Airport, local expert Lucy Bryson suggests you stick to the coffee and fresh juices given the dining choices are over-priced and low quality.
