11.03.2009 – COLUMBUS, Ohio – Positively Cleveland (www.positivelycleveland.com and www.clevelandmeetings.com), the convention and visitors promoting Cleveland Plus, recently received top recognition for their achievement in marketing and advertising at the Ohio Travel Association’s RUBY Awards presentation during the Ohio Conference on Tourism, held October 21-23 in Cincinnati. Positively Cleveland received two (2) RUBY awards for its "Positively Cleveland" tourism video created with Glazen Creative and featuring Cleveland rapper Q-Nice Q-Nice and for the destination marketing organization’s “Hastily Made” tourism video contest and social media campaign. Positively Cleveland also received a citation of excellence for its 2008 Annual Report.
OTA’s RUBY Awards recognize excellence in Ohio’s travel and tourism industry for efforts in advertising, marketing and public relations. For this year’s competition, 143 entries were submitted by nearly 40 businesses and organizations. Five judges reviewed entries in 15 categories. Among the 15 categories, six categories were separated into budget classifications for organizations having an operating budget above or below $500,000. Three new categories were added this year: Electronic Newsletter/E-Bulletin, Blog and Social Networking Campaign.
OTA is the largest travel and tourism industry association in Ohio. Members include travel and tourism professionals representing hotels, restaurants, attractions and destination marketing organizations as well as representatives from tour companies that package and sell group tour vacations.
