[DATE AUTO INSERTED HERE] – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Vancouver. June 7, 2009 - Watch residents in 26 Canadian towns settle deep-seated rivalries the truly Canadian way this Canada Day - with heart-pounding, laugh-inducing road-hockey throw downs. For the first time, all 26 episodes of the hit OLN series “Road Hockey Rumble” are available for purchase on DVD from Wed., July 1. Available exclusively online, DVD purchases can be made at www.roadhockeyrumble.com or www.papernyfilms.com for $34.99 each. This 4 disk collection includes the complete 2 seasons, mind-blowing audio commentary, easily the best stills gallery you’ve ever laid eyes on, and more guest stars than you can shake a hockey stick at.
Streets, parking lots, and tennis courts across Canada have long played host to the epic, bloodthirsty struggle for blacktop supremacy that is our nation’s most beloved pastime. The hosts of “Road Hockey Rumble,” Calum MacLeod and Mark McGuckin, proudly bring this spirit to the screen, in all its reckless glory. In each episode of the series, Calum and Mark travel to various Canadian towns where they tap into already festering rivalries (i.e. police versus fire department). After picking players in the community, the respective teams settle their differences on the road hockey court. The winner team gets bragging rights and beer. The losing host is subject to a hysterical, Jackass-worthy punishment.
Guest stars in the series include NHLers Wade Redden, Jordin Tootoo, Éric Bélanger, Tyler Arnason, Duane Sutter, Olympic Champion Curler Russ Howard, CFL All-Star Tom Canada, four time World’s Strongest Man Magnús Ver Magnússon and many more!
In conjunction with the release date, two authentic jerseys worn by Mark and Calum during the filming of RHR will be auctioned off through Ebay. The auction will commence on July 1st and all proceeds will be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada. Details available on www.roadhockeyrumble.com.
