BORDENTOWN, N.J. – Okay, here’s your shot at being head designer. No pressure. The tech-savvy peeps at outdoor lighting leader Princeton Tec are ready for you to put your mark and creative genius on their lights using their new, interactive and user-friendly Spectrum program. The first of its kind in the world, the Spectrum gives you the necessary tools to dive into the depths of your imagination to design your own personal, custom headlamp and share it.

“One of the foundations of Princeton Tec is creativity. Being a technical company, we are always looking for creative solutions and uses for new technologies,” said Global Marketing Director Gerard Armendinger. “The Spectrum allows for all individuals to contribute to the overall aesthetic and color options of our products. For years, the market has asked for color variations, and with the Spectrum we provide the market with the ability to define those variations while including social options for sharing.”

The Spectrum is Princeton Tec’s personal invitation to you to step into their world and put your stylish stamp on one of their headlamps. Providing literally millions of design options for Princeton Tec’s compact and bright  Fuel ($35) and Remix ($45, coming soon) headlamps, the Spectrum supplies you with creative control to self-select and design your personal headlamp by mixing and matching six headlamp parts with 10 different color choices. Add in two on/off button colors and two headstrap options and what you have is a beautiful synergy (er, love) of innovative technology and creative license.

It’s simple. With a few clicks of the mouse – or touches of your smartphone or tablet screen – your illumination masterpiece is complete. Once ordered, your light will be delicately pieced together by the on-demand assembly team at Princeton Tec’s Trenton, N.J. factory, giving birth to a one-of-a-kind custom headlamp made right here in the good ol’ U.S. of A. It also means that the minimum order is one, so you can get the exact headlamp you need.

The mobile-friendly Spectrum program also includes social media sharing options. Creating a custom light but not 100-percent sure of the color combo you created? No sweat. Post it to your Facebook page, Tweet it, email it or place it on Tumblr and let your friends and followers chime in to give you the thumbs-up or thumbs-down before you pull the trigger on purchasing it. Or, just save it and revisit at your convenience.
