The event will include food, drinks, wine tastings, raffles, music from four local bands (Moho Collective, The Sinzibukwud Band, Eight Beat Measure, and Something Else), and TVs so attendees don't have to worry about missing any of the March Madness games. Right now, tickets are on sale for $15, and will increase to $20 at the door. Tickets can be purchased on the Rochester Twestival website--http://rochester.twestival.com--and 100 percent of all ticket sales will be donated to the YWCA.
To help achieve the fundraising goal of $6,500, the Rochester Twestival team has been participating in a few contest put on by Global Twestival. A logo contest and a team photo contest, both involved the team trying to earn as many Facebook "Likes" as possible for each of the submissions.
The Rochester Twestival is organized and funded by a diverse group of local professionals and sponsors. Team members meet in their spare time in order to discuss event logistics, sponsorships, and media strategies.
Matthew Ray, who works at Global Crossing full-time and has been leading the Rochester Twestival since its inaugural year in 2009, says, "The one thing every team member has in common is that we all use social media. Other than that, the diversity in professional backgrounds among us is a huge contribution to the Twestival's success."
This year's sponsors include Vision Ford, Cazbah Internet Marketing, Auction Direct USA, 33U Productions, Mason Selkowitz Marketing, Martino Flynn, MacVillage Productions, Naked Pizza, Tasteful Connections, Rochester Beer Co., Heron Hill, Damiani Wine, Poster Source, and CrazyDog Tees.
