BandPage on Facebook Now Provides Performance Royalties for Artists!

Kanye West, Maroon 5, Grateful Dead and thousands of musicians worldwide use BandPage and the new “YouTube Track” feature to receive performance royalties on Facebook.

San Francisco, CA – RootMusic is proud to announce the launch of the brand new YouTube Tracks feature which allows musicians the ability to collect royalties through the BandPage media player. BandPage is the first free Facebook application that brings all the content and functionality fans are looking for into one place and currently services over 3.1 million monthly active users.

RootMusic is also excited to publicly release the new 520 pixel version of BandPage through an automatic update that happened earlier in the week. The new design is slimmer, more streamlined, and fits perfectly within Facebook’s new application space. Through YouTube Tracks and YouTube’s existing partner program, musicians can collect ad revenue with each play of their songs on Facebook, changing the way artists look at the platform. Since launching 5 months ago, BandPage has become the fastest growing music application on Facebook by providing a sleek, intuitive, ad-free interface. Now, marquee artists like 50 Cent and Maroon 5 are using BandPage as well, partly due to the fact that labels can receive revenue from each song play on Facebook. Longtail artists can also utilize YouTube Tracks as a way to make additional income from their passion.

"For the past five months we have been going around the country asking musicians, managers, and labels what they are looking for, and that’s how we do it, its all about the music community," said J Sider, CEO of RootMusic. "By utilizing the Facebook network musicians now have a way to represent themselves where their fans are all the while getting paid for simply putting their music up for their fans to listen to.”

All artists who use BandPage are given a listn.to short link when they register, which allows them to send fans directly to their BandPage on Facebook.
