MINNEAPOLIS (February 07, 2012) - Minneapolis marketing firm, Russell herder, is proud to announce the addition of four new professionals to its team: Alicia Daugherty, Mike Sorenson, Kirsten Taylor and Matthew Bick.
Alicia Daugherty brings extensive experience to her position as account director at Russell Herder. Her previous experience includes serving as an account director for Steelhead Advertising in Portland, Ore., providing account management services for integrated marketing solutions and planning services for existing and new client opportunities. During her time there, Daugherty worked with brands such as BlackBerry, LG Business Solutions, BEDSLIDE, Northwest Cancer Specialists and San Juan Regional Medical Center. Previously, Daugherty spent time as an account executive with TracyLocke Advertising, an account manager with BI Worldwide, and a promotional account executive at Saatchi & Saatchi.
Mike Sorenson was hired as creative director, overseeing Russell Herder’s graphic designers and advising clients on creative best practices. Joining the firm from Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, Sorenson brings a wealth of experience to the creative team. In previous positions, Sorenson has been responsible for developing creative strategy and concepts to support marketing initiatives, providing direction for advertising campaigns and brand development as well as managing the creative execution, among other things. Sorenson played a key role in strengthening Mystic Lake’s brand image through advertising and marketing efforts.
Kirsten Taylor joins the firm as a public relations specialist. In her new role, she will coordinate public relations activities, facilitate news announcements and assist with press relations. Prior to working with Russell Herder, Taylor was a public relations associate with LIN PR, where she had a hand in many facets of strategic communications, including content development, media relations, media tracking, social media and website management. Taylor has had experience working with multiple brands, including Fredrikson & Byron, RESOURCE and the American Craft Council. Additionally, Taylor spent time as a public relations assistant at Cathryn Kennedy Consulting, where she wrote promotional material and conducted website maintenance, in addition to media relations. She has also spent time as a communications and marketing intern at National Wind and a freelance culture writer for the City Pages.
Matthew Bick comes aboard as a digital specialist on the Russell Herder digital team. In this role, he supports the firm’s digital practice with a focus on social media monitoring and research. Prior to joining Russell Herder, Bick worked as a project management and social media intern at Spyder Trap, where he was responsible for social media strategy and measurements, led research for client projects, and interacted closely with each department to coordinate work flow and manage projects. He also spent time as a communications and marketing associate with the National Football Foundation, a marketing and media manager with American Outlaws, an insights intern with Mindshare in London, and a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves events and promotions team.
