The reception will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner and awards at 6:45 p.m. at the Eugene Country Club, located at 255 Country Club Road.
The late Ann Sullivan, Glenn Cole, and Steve O’ Leary were chosen by the selection committee.
Ann Sullivan and Steve O'Leary will be inducted into the Hall of Achievement. Sullivan was a pioneer for women in journalism as a reporter for The Oregonian. O'Leary is president of O'Leary and Partners Advertising and is a noted author and speaker about word-of-mouth advertising.
Glenn Cole will receive the inaugural Eric Allen Award for alumni under 40. Cole co-founded 72andSunny, a design and advertising company, after working as creative director at the advertising agency Wieden+Kennedy in Amsterdam. Eric Allen was the first dean of the School of Journalism.
The Hall of Achievement - the school's signature event - started in 1998 when members of the school's Journalism Advancement Council wanted to celebrate the history of the school and connect students with that history and with alumni.
In 2001, The Hall of Achievement was expanded to include The Hall of Achievement Student Fund. The program includes individual scholarship funds established to honor members of the Hall of Achievement and a general student fund.
Previous inductees include former Oregon Governor Tom McCall; Tim Boyle, president and chief executive officer of Columbia Sportswear; and Anne Curry, television news journalist and news anchor on NBC's "Today" show.
