It’s a new take on the traditional block party - a chance to reconnect with neighbors, enjoy the warm weather, and kick back with a nice, refreshing cocktail. This year, throw a neighborhood “patio party” – a simpler and trendier way to spend time with your neighbors.
The Entertaining Experts from Seagram’s Escapes have some great ideas on how to host a patio party that is both fun and easy:
• Collaborate. Get together with a handful of your neighbors to plan your patio party. Pick which houses will participate.
• Round up the Troops. Create a fun flyer to promote your neighborhood patio party and drop it in your neighbor’s mailboxes.
• Light the way...to the party. Create easy-to-make paper lanterns and put them on your patio to let people know your patio is participating (they also serve as a fun, decorative element). To make: put candles in paper bags and place them around your patio. These paper lanterns are safe decorations, but make sure to set them out to the side of your walkway (you don’t want anyone kicking them over).
• Customized Cocktails. Have each patio mix up a pitcher of a different cocktail or serve a different Seagram’s Escapes flavor (Mango and Sangria flavors are particularly refreshing on a hot, summer night).
• Dynamic Duos. Pair up your cocktail with a simple dish that guests will love. Lime flavored tortilla chips and salsa perfectly compliment a Seagram’s Escapes Mango Mojito (see recipe below). Or serve Seagram’s Escapes Sangria coolers with some light and refreshing fruit.
To make your patio party even more flavorful, mix up pitchers of these new Seagram’s Escapes summer cocktails:
