The Agency Buy, Sell, Retire, Transition and Valuation Workshop, Las Vegas, NV, February 15 and 16, 2011. The best transition workshop in the business for owners of smaller and mid-sized agencies, this two-day workshop guides agency owners in determining agency value, planning how and when to retire, and securing valuable employees as future agency leaders and owners. Agency owners and future agency directors will gain a step-by-step process for securing their wealth and achieving retirement goals. This event will be held at Caesar’s Palace.

The Certified Account Executive College, Chicago, IL, April 12, 13 and 14, 2011. The three full-day workshops include “A Complete Guide to Account Service,” on Tuesday, April 12; “Account Planning and Strategic Planning for Smaller Agencies,” on Wednesday, April 13; and “Writing Winning Proposals, Giving Winning Pitches,” on Thursday, April 14. Participants attending all three workshops have the opportunity to become a Second Wind Certified Agency Account Manager (CAAM). The college is being held at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business Gleacher Center, and is recommended for agency owners, account supervisors and executives, and new business developers.

Creative Juice, Chicago, IL, June 14 and 15, 2011. An invigorating workshop for smaller and midsize agency creatives and managers, Creative Juice offers two days of instruction, demonstrations, a creative tour, workshop sessions and a creative symposium featuring some of America’s finest and most successful creative talents. This year’s event will be held at the Gleacher Center.

The Agency Financial and Operations Management Workshop, Chicago, IL, September 20 and 21, 2011. This workshop offers two jam-packed days of trade secrets on margins; markups; maximizing time billings; capturing lost hours; monthly executive reports; P&L statements; improving cash flow; agency compensation strategies and writing great client contracts. We’ll also cover workflow management, estimating, working with vendors and client billing methods. This advanced level course is for agency bookkeepers, controllers, traffic managers, production managers, operations managers, owners and CFOs. This workshop also will be held at the Gleacher Center.

Daily seminar sessions run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Second Wind members and non-members are invited to attend. One-day workshop fees for members are $525 and for non-members, $625; two-day fees are $825 for members and $1,025 for non-members; and three-day fees are $1,325 for members and $1,625 for non-members.
