SHURE MICROPHONES POWER EXCLUSIVE PERFORMANCES, INTERVIEWS WITH TODAY’S TOP MUSICAL TALENT ON ‘GUITAR CENTER SESSIONS’

Niles, Ill., Nov. 21, 2011—Shure Incorporated has provided microphones to the award-winning music television series Guitar Center Sessions on DIRECTV. Produced by Guitar Center, the world’s largest musical instrument retailer, and DIRECTV, one of the world’s leading providers of digital television entertainment services, the program features exclusive performances and intimate, enlightening conversations hosted by musical tastemaker Nic Harcourt, frequently referred to as “the most influential DJ in America.”

To date, musicians performing on the show who have used the Shure mic package include Peter Frampton, Bad Religion, Saint Motel, Social Distortion, Blondie, Bush, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, New Found Glory, Tom Morello, Seether, Carolina Liar, and Plain White T's.

The first of seven new episodes of the show premieres Saturday, November. 19 at 9:00 P.M. ET/PT in 2D hi-definition on DIRECTV’S Audience Network (channel 239) and in 3D on DIRECTV’S n3D™ powered by Panasonic, and features multi-platinum rock band BushA sneak preview of the Bush episode and exclusive performance of “The Chemical Between Us” can be seen at http://guitarcenter.com/sessions/. Other upcoming episodes include Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Tom Morello, Seether, Plain White T’s, Carolina Liar, and New Found Glory.

Every Guitar Center Sessions episode is filmed in front of a live studio audience in the Guitar Center Hollywood Vintage Room. Described as a hybrid between Inside the Actors Studio and VH1 Storytellers, Guitar Center Sessions features performances and insightful interviews with musicians detailing the personal and musical experiences that have helped shape their careers. The program received the International 3D Society’s award for “Best Music Television Series” in 2010.
