Woodland Hills, CA – With the aim of promoting safer holiday driving behavior, @SignOfLabor (http://twitter.com/signoflabor) announces the launch of its Twitter-based Memorial Day Weekend holiday safety awareness initiative.
By tweeting messages which raise awareness that pregnant women are among holiday travelers, Sign Of Labor hopes to provide yet another reason for people to drive responsibly and with safety in mind as they take to the nation’s roadways during the upcoming holiday weekend:
“We saw an opportunity to contribute a new perspective, to make a point that may get more people to take extra care when they get in their cars for the holiday. If you ask drivers, whether they ever thought that the cars around them might include an individual who is pregnant, they’d probably say ‘No.’ It’s by raising awareness that pregnant women are part of the increased holiday traffic that we believe we might contribute something positive in terms of roadway safety.”
Since Twitter represents a vast, living social network, Ingrid stresses the value of participation for the initiative to gain greater reach:
“There is so much happening on Twitter, so many messages going by so quickly, that we really need others to participate by retweeting both our invitational messages, which encourage people to join in, and our awareness messages themselves.”
The 2010 @SignOfLabor Memorial Day Weekend Pregnancy Awareness Initiative begins on Sunday, 05/23, and runs through Tuesday, 06/01.
