SKM Group Sponsors American Cancer Society Walk

Full-Service Agency Continues Effort to Raise $25,000 in 25th Anniversary Celebration

Depew, NY - SKM Group, Inc., a full-service marketing communications agency, will be one step closer to reaching its year-long goal of raising $25,000 for the American Cancer Society, in honor of its 25th year in business, by sponsoring the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on October 2, 2011.

The American Cancer Society's (ACS) Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk will be held at Niagara Square in Buffalo, NY. SKM staff will participate in the 3.2 mile walk throughout the downtown area, wearing company t-shirts in honor of the silver anniversary. In addition to walking, the agency will be selling pink carnations and cupcakes for one dollar each. All proceeds will benefit the local chapter of the ACS and help the agency get another step closer to reaching their goal. "Although SKM will play a small role in the overall event, we hope that our efforts throughout the year will make a big difference in the lives of those affected by cancer,"says SKM Group President, Sue Meany.

Throughout the year, the company continues to work towards the goal of raising $25,000 for the ACS with donations from clients, friends and suppliers. What's more, SKM will match every dollar raised up to an additional $25,000, which will be give to cancer-related organizations locally and across the country.

The advertising and marketing agency has participated in an array of local events to show their support and raise funds for cancer research initiatives, including the ACS's Cuisine for a Cure and retail grocery chain TOPS Friendly Markets, a SKM client, 5K Run/Family Walk supporting Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The upcoming walk is another example of the agency's commitment to helping worthy charities such as the ACS. "It is our hope that someday there will be a cure for this terrible disease. We all have seen the toll it can take on family, friends and coworkers, and are determined to keep fighting alongside organizations, like the ACS and Roswell Park, to help fund research and give people hope," says Meany.
