Solutions 21 to Host Sendek Summit on Leadership

Solutions 21 will host the first annual Sendek Summit on Leadership on October 21-22, 2010 at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort in Phoenix, Arizona. Herb Sendek, Men’s Head Basketball Coach of Arizona State University, will lead executives in a discussion of leadership as it relates to attracting, retaining and engaging talent to drive organizational performance and bottom-line results.

The Sendek Summit will consist of keynote, panel and general sessions structured to maximize discussion, interaction and learning for all participants. The theme of this year’s program will be “Timeless Leadership: Leveraging Talent to Drive Sustainability and Growth.” New York Times #1 bestselling author and businessman, Harvey Mackay, will deliver the keynote address on Friday, October 22, 2010. Additional speakers and panelists will be announced in August 2010.

Participants in the Sendek Summit will:

* Engage in a meaningful dialogue about deploying talent to create a strategic advantage and increase the bottom line.
* Leverage talent and technology to create sustainability and growth in an uncertain and challenging business environment.
* Learn how to develop current employees to create a succession plan.
* Network with speakers, panelists and attendees.

The Sendek Summit will include behind-the-scenes access to ASU Sun Devils Basketball practice, including a practice primer and wrap-up led by Coach Sendek to discuss how his leadership principles directly translate from the basketball court to the boardroom. Coach Sendek will also lead sessions on Generation Y and succession planning.

Buddy Hobart, President of Solutions 21, adds, “Herb Sendek has a proven track record not only at attracting/retaining talent, but also developing talent to move on to lead other programs. The Sendek Summit is an innovative way to educate leaders on the importance of sustainability within their business by providing the unique opportunity to learn about attracting leaders of the future while developing current talent to take the organization to the next level.” Sendek and Hobart first collaborated in 2009 on the book Gen Y Now: How Generation Y is Changing Your Workplace and Why It Requires a New Leadership Style, which applies leadership principles to attracting, engaging and retaining the latest generation to enter the workforce.
