Sorel turned heads last year as it took its first steps from the mountain onto the runway. This Fall, the brand expands its fashion footprint with new styles, colors and a new attitude – without sacrificing the quality that consumers expect from the iconic Sorel brand. “Last year, people were pleasantly surprised by Sorel’s new fashionable direction,” said Linda Reese, Director of Marketing Communications at Sorel. “We wanted to push the bar even further this year with chic silhouettes and playful fabrics, colors and patterns.”
The Sorel Fall 2010 collection includes a style for après anything – from getting to and from the office, weekend window-shopping or drinks after a day on the slopes. Each piece in the collection infuses the classic Sorel style with on-trend elements such as fur-like detailing and luxurious suede.
SOREL'S "GET OUT" COLLECTION
This collection merges Sorel’s historic reliability and performance, featuring the rugged materials and styling that have made Sorel a classic. Functional on the hill and at ease on the town, these Sorel boots prove you don’t have to sacrifice style to keep warm.
Cate the Great. With design cues drawn from a classic Native American moccasin, Cate the Great is the boot to watch this season. Its silhouette, colorways, textures and materials are a unique mash-up of modern sophistication and mountain cred. It’s the boot to wear with fall’s on-trend leggings, jeggings, funky tights, over-the-knee socks and skinny jeans seen on runways from New York to London. Cate joins the already popular Joan of Arctic and Helen of Tundra to round out Sorel’s definitive trilogy of fashionably functional boots. Cate the Great carries a suggested retail price of $200 USD and will be available at www.sorel.com and select Sorel retailers on August 1, 2010.
Joan of Arctic. The popular faux-fur trimmed lace-up boot that turned heads last season gets luxe new details in 2010. The Joan of Arctic Reserve comes in pink champagne or jet black, with Swarovski crystal detailing and a plusher fur-like cuff. The original Joan will still be available in the favored black and hawk (a dark brown) but will also come in shale (a dark grey) and a fawn-colored suede with bright coral accents. Suggested retail prices for the Joan of Arctic styles range from $130 to $400 USD. Available at www.sorel.com and select Sorel retailers on July 1, 2010 (original) and August 1, 2010 (Reserve).
The Tivoli collection also made its debut in 2009, and this year the youthful boot returns in both high and low lace-up, as well as a low slip-on. The Tivoli collection features updated textures and colors such as black and white houndstooth with neon pink laces and dark cherry plaid with faux snakeskin accents. These boots deliver on traditional Sorel expectations, but with a playful attitude and closer fit. Suggested retail prices for Tivoli styles range from $85 - $130 USD. Available at www.sorel.com and select Sorel retailers on August 1, 2010.
SOREL'S "CHILL OUT" COLLECTION
The Sorel footwear provides functional warmth, casual comfort and a healthy dose of style – moving smoothly from slopeside to streetside without pause.
The MacKenzie collection offers a fresh interpretation of Sorel’s 2009 Inuit-inspired “snow sneaker” series. This warm and comfy collection includes four tall boots and four shorter “snow sneaker” styles. Each has a waterproof leather or textile upper and warm wool lining. The slip-on MacKenzie styles are fashionable and comfortable for après sport, providing warmth without the bulk when kicking back after a long day on the mountain or a day of shopping in the city. The MacKenzie collection suggested retail prices range from $80 to $150 USD. Available at www.sorel.com and select Sorel retailers on July 1, 2010 (MacKenzie Lace Tall, Slip Tall and Sneaker) and September 1, 2010 (MacKenzie Lace Holiday Tall, Slip Holiday Tall and Holiday Sneaker).
SOREL'S "STAND OUT" COLLECTION
Simultaneously refined and rugged, this selection of versatile, design-driven footwear incorporates the finest materials with Sorel’s timeless style cues for a deft blend of outdoor sensibility and urban sophistication.
The Firenzy collection features the Firenzy, Firenzy Suede and Firenzy Breve. These boots blend outdoor sensibility with urban sophistication and take their cue from the runway, incorporating sesame leather with metallic stitching, crushed-berry suede and 80’s-inspired details (the designers’ muse was a retro ski glove). Perfect for meeting the girls for brunch or dancing on tables for après ski. The Firenzy collection suggested retail prices range from $160 to $200 USD. Available at www.sorel.com and select Sorel retailers on August 1, 2010.
Sorel’s Fall 2010 styles will be available online at www.sorel.com, as well as select retailers, including: Nordstrom, Amazon.com, REI, Journeys and Zappos.com.
