SMG Implements LiquidThread North America Leadership Structure, Appoints Brent Poer To Lead

Structure Stems from Content Unit's Growth Since 2010 Launch, Spans 15 Global Markets

Chicago, IL – Starcom MediaVest Group today announced implementation of a new North America Leadership structure for LiquidThread. Brent Poer has been appointed its lead as EVP, Executive Creative Director, LiquidThread North America, effective immediately. Poer will report to Brian Terkelsen, Global President, SMG LiquidThread, and operate out of Los Angeles in this new role.

LiquidThread, SMG’s digitally-led content creation unit, has grown significantly since its launch 18 months ago and is now producing content in 15 global markets. In his new role, Poer will be charged with leading creative and operational aspects of the North American unit, including oversight of its 65-person team of content producers spanning New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and Toronto.

Poer takes on the LiquidThread role with a career spanning more than two decades in content creation. Among his experience, Poer served as General Manager of theWB.com, launching the online entertainment property and overseeing all creative, business, and operational aspects. Poer also spent four years at MediaVest working with Terkelsen to build connectivetissue (LiquidThread’s predecessor) and overseeing the unit’s talent and production across 100+ client brands.

Before joining MediaVest, Poer led integrated marketing programs for numerous clients at Lifetime Network. He began his career as a content producer at Reebok. Most recently, Poer served as EVP, Managing Director, of the West Coast MediaVest office and LiquidThread capability, driving programs like Microsoft “TV to Bing About” with the CW, the first advertising program to takeover a network tagline and including integrations with CW talent.
