Gough Econ's Heavy Duty Swinglink® Bucket Elevator

The Workhorse At The Heart Of Metal Powder Processing

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After a series of expansions at a major metal powder processing facility in eastern Canada, Gough Econ has successfully installed a Bucket Elevator to meet the customer’s very specific needs.

In 1999, Gough Econ was first awarded a contract at the powder processing facility, which was looking to increase its facility’s capacity to a level of 20 MTPH (44,000 lbs/hr). A further, more recent expansion added an additional processing line capable of up to 30 MTPH (66,000 lbs/hr).

“Due to the tireless and trouble free operation in the original expansion, we were awarded and have subsequently installed a “M” Series Swinglink® Bucket Elevator, at that facility” said Andy Leitch, Gough Econ’s Vice President of Sales.

Gough Econ’s range of equipment is specially designed to handle the most aggressive and abrasive products with densities of up to 200 lbs cubic foot, such as metal powders and granules.

The Swinglink® Bucket Elevator system is a great example of the durability of Gough Econ’s products. Each of the buckets is capable of easily handling up to 32 pounds of product, each bucket is located on 9” chain centers.

At the most recent installation at the powder processing facility, the loaded side of the elevator has 120 buckets conveying over 3,840 pounds instantaneously 24 hours a day, and seven days a week.

The durability and capacity of the Swinglink® is a testament to the superior design of every component and the overall final design of the Gough Econ product range.

“Your units, supplied back in 1999, have been a workhorse for our process, and the selection of the larger unit was an unquestioned unanimous decision by our engineers, maintenance and operations departments,” noted the customer.
