HIGH PRAISE FOR GOUGH ECON IN THE SMOKELESS TOBACCO INDUSTRY

Gough Econ Aligns With Growing Smokeless Tobacco Industry

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- There has been a significant upswing in the smokeless tobacco market over the last few years. The upsurge has been due to changes in personal habits and legislative changes restricting where and how tobacco can be used.

Combined with higher prices, there have been significant reductions in the manufacture of cigarettes and cigars in recent years and a move towards a more contained and user-friendly product.

Smokeless tobacco products allow for use in restaurants, airports and other public places where traditional tobacco use is no longer allowed.

Gough Econ, a specialist in the design, manufacture and installation of process equipment and conveyors, is one company aligned to the market changes. This alignment has taken place on a number of sites in their home tobacco growing state of North Carolina and more recently in Tennessee.

Gough Econ equipment is being used on a number of process lines to handle both dry and moist snuff, loose and long leaf products from processing to packaging.

“Gough Econ’s terrific equipment and even more than that, its people, who design, install, and support their customers in a superior way are what makes them successful,”
complemented a senior engineer of a major smokeless tobacco manufacturer after a successful project.
