Moodagent Nominated For Best Mobile Experimental & Innovation, Best Mobile Application in the 14th Annual Webby Awards

Fans can vote online to help Moodagent win Internet's top honor

SAN FRANCISCO – Syntonetic Inc., creator of music playlisting and recommendation technologies, today announced its iPhone application, Moodagent, has been nominated for two Webby Awards. The mobile app has been recognized in the Experimental & Innovation category, as well as in the Mobile Application category.

Hailed as the "Internet's highest honor" by the New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet.

Syntonetic's mobile app, Moodagent, profiles songs and creates playlists based on songs' characteristics, including the mood, genre, sub-genre, style, tempo/beat and instrumentation and production features. All this information is simplified into five touchscreen sliders depicting the moods expressed by a tune: red for Sensual, orange for Tender, yellow for Happy, purple for Angry and gray for Tempo. Moodagent listeners create playlists automatically by adjusting the sliders, or by "seeding" a song and allowing the app to find songs with similar mood profiles.

"Nominees like Moodagent are setting the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet," said David-Michel Davies, executive director of the Webby Awards. "It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the nearly 10,000 entries we received this year."

As a nominee, Moodagent is also eligible to win a Webby People's Voice Award, which is voted online by the global Web community. From now until April 29th, Moodagent fans can cast their votes in The Webby People's Voice Awards at http://bit.ly/bmDU9Y and http://bit.ly/a4yUuN.

"Syntonetic is absolutely thrilled to be nominated for two Webby Awards," said Richard French, chief executive officer of Syntonetic. "Our team is determined to make Moodagent the best music app on iTunes. This nomination is a testament to our efforts."

Winners will be announced on May 4th, 2010 and honored at a star-studded ceremony in New York City on June 14th where they will have an opportunity to deliver one of The Webby Awards' famous five-word speeches. Past Webby Award winners - and their speeches - include Al Gore ("Please don't recount this vote."), Stephen Colbert ("Me. Me. Me. Me. Me."), and Michel Gondry ("Keyboards are full of germs.").
