Moodagent Recognized With Hive Awards Honorable Mention

SAN FRANCISCO – Syntonetic Inc., creator of music playlisting and recommendation technologies, today announced its Moodagent mobile application for the iPhone and iPod Touch was awarded the Hive Awards 2010 Honorable Mention in the Mobile Apps category.

Moodagent profiles songs and creates playlists based on songs’ characteristics, including the mood, genre, sub-genre, style, tempo/beat and instrumentation and production features. All this information is simplified into five touchscreen sliders depicting the moods expressed by a tune: red for Sensual, orange for Tender, yellow for Happy, purple for Angry and gray for Tempo. Moodagent listeners create playlists automatically by adjusting the sliders, or by ‘seeding’ a song and allowing the app to find songs with similar mood profiles.

The Hive Awards recognize the “unsung heroes” of the internet; the behind-the-scenes innovators and visionaries who are often overlooked. Winners are determined by a panel of judges, comprised of experts in their fields, with a goal to set standards for the industry. Moodagent was recognized for its innovation in the mobile music apps arena.

“Syntonetic is delighted to receive this recognition from a very prestigious awards program,” said Richard French, chief executive officer for Syntonetic. “The entire company has worked tirelessly to make Moodagent the best app in its category, and acknowledgement by the Hive Awards is validation that we’re on the right track.”

Moodagent is free on iTunes.
