Teton Gravity Research Premieres 'The Dream Factory' at Jackson Hole

(Teton Village, Wyo.) - (Teton Village, Wyo.) - For the culmination of a grand, celebratory weekend including the TGR Family Dinner and 12th Annual TGR Tee-Off, the award-winning producers from Teton Gravity Research (TGR) premiered The Dream Factory next to TGR's world headquarters in Teton Village Saturday evening. TGR athletes, crew, partners, and friends celebrated TGR's most ambitious film project to date, which blends the story of Alaska and the freeride movement with the modern progression of skiing and snowboarding - from steep spines and big mountain terrain, to urban and all-around progressive freestyle.

“This movie is about Alaska and the history of skiing in Alaska,” says TGR co-founder Todd Jones. “As much as the skiers have influenced the legendary places in AK over the years, those places influenced us. You don’t just go up to Haines or Valdez and take over. Those places have history, roots, and culture. The locations are huge; they were a very big part of this film.”

For the past 16 years, Teton Gravity Research (TGR) has made the pilgrimage to America’s last frontier, Alaska: The Dream Factory. Throughout history, Alaska has been a place of dreams. From the early gold rush days, to the rise of commercial fishing, to the explosion of the ski and snowboard freeride movement, people have left everything to follow their dreams and journey to this foreign, mystical land. Like the frontiersmen before them, the pioneers of the freeride movement like Doug Coombs, Eric Pehota, and Trevor Petersen made the dream of skiing in Alaska a reality.
