"Teva inspired an evolution in outdoor footwear 25 years ago and we are once again positioned to be a catalyst in redefining a new outdoor movement with the next generation with new product and ground support in the Teva Blue Line," Joel Heath, Teva's global marketing director. "This effort will fuel an urban and traditional outdoor experience with a twist."
The Blue Line Collection merges Teva's water-performance expertise with leading innovative technologies in the Fuse-ion, a classic-looking sneaker, Cherry Bomb 2 kayaking bootie and Bomber Flip performance flip-flop.
All three styles feature Teva's new Spider Rubber + JStep, an outsole rubber compound first used in footwear designed for culinary professionals to prevent slipping on greasy kitchen floors. Spider Rubber + JStep performs equally well on wet rocks and slippery riverbeds because its low-abrasion rubber compound sticks to surfaces and built-in microchannels force liquids out from under the sole.
"One of Teva's goals is to make outdoor adventures more accessible and appealing to more people, and technologies like Spider Rubber + JStep make it easier and more fun to play in and around water," says Chris Hillyer, Teva's technical product line manager.
The Fuse-Ion is a classic-style sneaker that employs leading footwear technologies such as the Spider Rubber + JStep outsole, yet transitions easily to the streets when the day's adventures come to a close. It's fold-down heel easily converts this shoe into a slip-on and the ion-maskT nano-coating applied to the upper shed water droplets on the molecular level without compromising breathability.
The Fuse-Ion will be available for men and women at select retailers and online at www.teva.com starting January 15, 2012 and will retail for $90.
The Cherry Bomb 2
The Cherry Bomb 2 has been updated significantly since it was first introduced in 2009. Major updates include a lower profile, a foot-hugging lacing system and external heel-support web and stabilizing strap over the instep. The outsole features the new Spider Rubber + JStep technology plus a lug pattern that wraps around the side of the bootie for improved traction on uneven surfaces.
The Cherry Bomb will be available at select retailers and online at www.teva.com starting January 15, 2012. Available in unisex sizing only and will retail for $80.
The Bomber Flip combines the slip-on convenience of a flip flop with performance features worthy of any adventure thanks to the silencer strap over the instep and Spider Rubber + JStep outsole. A Shoc PadT in the heel provides shock absorption and energy return with every step while an anti-microbial Microbanr Zinc fights the growth of odor-causing bacteria on the cushy, blown-rubber topsole.
The Bomber Flip will be available at select retailers and online at www.teva.com starting January 15, 2012 and will retail for $70.
