The Texas Testosterone Festival Presented by SugarBaby Swimwear Brings Mixed Martial Arts to Austin in August 2009

Prominent Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) figures Amir Sadollah and Relson Gracie to participate in Austin festival geared towards men and active women.

AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Testosterone Festival (TTF), hosted at the Palmer Events Center August 15th-16th, 2009 is a showcase of all things manly, extreme and adrenaline-pumping. The festival will feature some of the country’s fastest growing sports and sports hobbies including Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). MMA has come a long way in the past two decades, transforming itself from a no-holds-barred fight club into a legitimate and internationally-recognized competitive sport. The sport continues to grow, with upwards of 63 MMA organizations worldwide, growing fight purses, and robust merchandise sales.

Highlights of the Festival include:
Mixed Martial Arts & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Seminars (Saturday, August 15th)
- King of Kombat presents UFC Ultimate Fighter Amir Sadollah MMA semiar and Q&A. Sadollah, winner of the UFC’s “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 7, will come straight from his fight at UFC 101 to give an MMA seminar and hold a live interview and audience Q&A session moderated by Steve Sievert, Lead Staff Writer for one of the sport’s premier authorities, MMAjunkie.com.
- Relson Gracie, an elder of the world-renowned Gracie family and owner of multiple Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academies across the country, will hold a live Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Seminar presented by AT&T.

Then on Sunday, August 16th, Relson Gracie will host two competitive BJJ events.
- The Relson Gracie Texas Jiu-Jitsu Team Challenge, where different Jiu-Jitsu teams or individuals can challenge each other to regulated bouts.
- Jiu-Jitsu Tournament with cash prizes for different categories, also hosted by Gracie.

Other fun activities for attendees looking for a less hands-on festival experience include:
- A Fantasy Football Mock Draft moderated by Ladd Biro, Fantasy Football columnist for the Dallas Morning News and contributor to Sporting News Radio
- Texas Hold’Em Poker Tournaments, video game tournaments and more.
- King of Kombat will have exhibit space attendees can visit to meet fighters on the card for King of Kombat 7 being held at Austin Music Hall on August 29.
