FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Austin, TX--June 6, 2012--Today is World Pet Memorial Day 2012, which provides the perfect opportunity to lovingly remember pets who have passed away. The death of a pet can be one of the hardest things any pet owner has to endure, and today offers another chance to pay respects to our beloved passed friends.

The Texas Veterinary Medical Foundation (TVMF) also now offers a great way to remember and honor past pets year-round.

The TVMF Pet Memorial Wall is a recent addition to the TVMF website that allows owners to create memorials for pets who have been honored by donations to the Memorial Gift Program or from TVMA members or the general public.

“TVMF is proud to provide this tribute to celebrate the special bond between humans and animals and those whose memory lives on,” said TVMF Director Leah Ann Tibbetts. “All donations made in honor of a pet on the TVMF Pet Memorial Wall will benefit the TVMF PALS Program, which provides veterinary care free of charge to clients of the Pets Assisting the Lives of Seniors (PALS) program of Meal on Wheels and More of Austin for the purpose of strengthening the human-animal bond by ensuring the health and welfare of animals belonging to people who are homebound, elderly and disabled.”
