11.02.2009 – RALEIGH, NC, --518 West Italian Café is continuing its partnership with Broadway Series South to celebrate South Pacific’s arrival to the Triangle. Roger and Hammerstein’s famous show will be held at the Progress Energy Center November 3-8, 2009, and each ticket purchased for Jersey Boys will be redeemable for one complimentary appetizer or dessert for two at 518 West.
“518 West really enjoyed partnering with Broadway Series South on Jersey Boys and is excited about South Pacific coming to the area,” said 518 West’s executive chef and general manager, Blaine Nierman. “People can enjoy a night out downtown and come by for dinner afterward. We like pairing with events that can give people a full cultural experience and this dinner and show combination is a great way to spend an evening. I think people will really enjoy the show and I know they will enjoy the food.”
South Pacific is based on James Michener’s Pulitzer Prize winning book Tales of the South Pacific. Rodgers & Hammerstein then turned the book into a musical with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. It includes famous ballads such as “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair” and “Some Enchanted Evening”. It is directed by 2008 Tony Award®-winner, Bartlett Sher. Set on a tropical island during World War II, the musical tells the sweeping romantic story of two couples and how their happiness is threatened by the realities of war and by their own prejudices.
The offer is valid through the departure of South Pacific on November 8, 2009 and is available while supplies last. For more information on South Pacific please visit www.broadwayseriessouth.com.
