The Sony Ericsson Yari provides features galore
11.07.2009 – The Sony Ericsson Yari is a slider phone that offers a raft of functionality within a tidy casing. The handset is relatively small in comparison to many phones. It is 100 mm by 48 mm wide and 15 mm thick whilst weighing 115 grams. It offers something to appease the majority of consumers but stops at being something to everyone.
A 5.0 mega pixel camera is provided which captures imagery of excellent quality and depth. The camera operates at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels and includes auto focus, face detection, image stabilisation, LED flash and geo tagging as standard elements and features included within the package. Those who prefer video recording and playback are able to avail themselves of this feature with this handset. It records video at QVGA quality and 30 frames per second. The popular video calls feature is available thanks to the inclusion of a secondary camera provided.
The 2.4 inch display screen is an excellent element of the Sony Ericsson Yari . It is able to accurately display 256,000 colours which means that images displayed have a depth of colour and clarity of image rarely seen on a handset. The addition of an accelerometer sensor offers auto rotation of images for optimum viewing in the well defined display screen. The integrated speakerphone offers hands free operation.
For entertainment purposes, the phone includes an MP3 / MP4 player and stereo FM radio. The MP3 player can play most audio files and also comes with additional benefits such as TrackID, shake control and SenseMe. The radio offers the ability to listen to broadcasts from local and national radio stations.
Connectivity is offered in the form of GPRS, EDGE, Blue tooth and USB. The HSDPA connection provides the means to access the internet and browse the web at fast speeds. Satellite navigation is offered through the GPS with A-GPS support.
The Sony Yari is a phone which provides a mix of style and function. Its recent release has coincided with a variety of other handsets. This may well affect its impact on the market. The phone is a phone which offers the usual Sony refinements with the added twist of style.
