SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Thermo Fluids, Inc., a recognized leader in the U.S. environmental services and oil recycling industry, hired Greg Guard as its chief marketing and sales officer. Guard is based in the company’s Scottsdale headquarters office and brings 15 years of experience in companies that range from a $13 billion multinational organization to start-up firms in industries like environmental services, manufacturing and telecommunications.
“Greg’s experience managing significant budgets and large staff sizes made him a prime candidate for this position,” said James Devlin, Thermo Fluids’ chief executive officer. “His determination and success is evident in his past work, and we are extremely lucky to have him in a leadership position with Thermo Fluids.”
Before joining the Thermo Fluids team, Guard spent much of his career at Waste Management where he started as a sales representative and worked his way up to vice president of sales over a $3 billion business unit. During his time in this position, he led a staff of more than 500 people and increased team revenues by 10 percent in the collection, landfill and recycling lines of business. In 2006, he left Waste Management to join Wastequip Manufacturing Company, a $500 million manufacturer of waste-related equipment, as the president of the Western group and eventually moved up to vice president of sales for North America.
Greg Guard is a native of Southern California and earned his bachelor of science in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
