PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville, a pioneer in distance learning for the last 34 years, earned a platinum (first place) award and named the" Best School for Online Education" in the 2012 Best of Wisconsin Business competition sponsored by Corporate Report Wisconsin (CRW). This is the third consecutive year the university and its Distance Learning Center (GoUWP.com) have earned the award.
“All the credit goes to our dedicated staff and, of course, our more than 2,500 students. We wouldn’t be here without them,” said Dawn Drake, executive director of Alternative Delivery Systems.
Thousands of voters chose three winners in each of the contest’s 30 categories. From that top three, the organization receiving the most votes in its respective category earned the Platinum Award. UW-Platteville also earned a platinum award (first place) for "Best Continuing Education."
Offering distance education since 1978, the university now has eight online degrees: organizational change management, integrated supply chain management, distance education leadership, criminal justice, project management, engineering, and business administration.
