Partnership addresses shipping pain point as vehicle buying has moved online, beyond local
On mobile.de, Germany’s largest online vehicle marketplace, users search for vehicles and motorcycles across regions. In order to facilitate the transportation of newly purchased vehicles or motorcycles, mobile.de is now incorporating a new shipping solution from uShip, the online transport web site, within auto and motorcycle classifieds listings.
We take for granted today's sophisticated intermodal infrastructure of planes, trains and trucks that zig-zag our country today. We demand that our stuff -- anything and everything ranging from documents to small parcels to furniture, cars and heavy equipment -- travel across an entire country or planet almost overnight.
uShip helps relieve the stress and high cost of moving hard-to-ship items, such as cars, household goods, boats, freight, heavy equipment, pets and more. As the first and largest online shipping marketplace, uShip connects people and businesses with feedback-rated transporters. Carriers place competitive bids to win business and often fill extra space in their trucks, saving customers an average of 50 percent. During its first five years, the uShip marketplace attracted $125 million in business transactions, one million listings and 160,000 service providers. Launched in 2004, uShip operates globally with localized functionality in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, European Union and Australia. The company is based in Austin, Texas.
