WILD POCKETS SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN MICROSOFT’S BIZSPARK ONE PROGRAM
Microsoft and Wild Pockets to Host Second Annual Bay Area Game Jam in 2010
11.17.2009 – SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Wild Pockets, the 3D game development platform created by Sim Ops Studios, has been selected to participate in Microsoft’s BizSpark One program.
BizSpark One is a new program designed to accelerate the growth of high-potential start-ups through a one-on-one relationship with Microsoft and a global community of advisors, investors and peers.
“We joined BizSpark last year and have enjoyed working with Microsoft. The BizSpark One program offers even greater benefits,” said Shanna Tellerman, CEO of Wild Pockets. “At a time when Wild Pockets is experiencing significant growth, we’re looking forward to working more closely with Microsoft and thrilled to gain access to its ecosystem of business advisors.”
In 2008 Wild Pockets and Microsoft sponsored the Bay Area Game Jam, a 24-hour event where independent game developers competed to create the best 3D game using the Wild Pockets development platform. Over 80 developers participated in the contest. Microsoft and Wild Pockets will host the second annual Bay Area Game Jam in the Spring of 2010.
As part of the BizSpark One program, Wild Pockets will have a one-on-one relationship with a Microsoft manager who will serve as the company’s guide for leveraging Microsoft technologies. This person will be an evangelist for Wild Pockets and serve as a liaison, offering introductions to the right people and resources within Microsoft and across its broad ecosystem.
Specifically, the Microsoft manager will spend time learning Wild Pockets’ business and develop a customized plan to help ensure that the resources, assistance, and guidance provided by Microsoft are helping the company achieve its goals.

It seeks to accelerate the growth of high potential BizSpark startups through a 1:1 relationship between Microsoft and the Startup. In this unique, invite-only program, Startups are paired with a dedicated relationship manager who works with them to promote its visibility, expand its network of investors and mentors, expose it to business opportunities, and develop cutting-edge applications. In some markets, BizSpark One goes a step further by forming Advisory Committees to help address common startup needs in those countries—such as access to leading seed and venture capital organizations.
