Ptolemy Constructing Data Center in Sheridan, Wyo.

Ptolemy Data Systems (PDS), a technology company, announces plans to construct a 5,500 square foot data center facility in Sheridan, Wyoming.

The facility is the company’s first phase of construction and includes a data center, call center and administration area.

“We are very excited about moving forward with this phase of our business” said Ryan Mulholland, CEO of Ptolemy. “Our company has seen rapid growth in managed services and data storage. We’re now at the point where an investment in this facility is the next logical move in our growth plan.”

Neltje, a local artist and land owner of the Wrench Ranch Hills Business Development, has been a supporter of Ptolemy since its inception. “I believe in economic development and companies like Ptolemy will provide jobs and diversify our economy,” said Neltje. Her investment in Ptolemy and her shared vision for business development in the Sheridan area is an asset to the entire community.

“Forward Sheridan commends the entrepreneurial spirit and vision demonstrated by the decision to move forward with the data center construction. The commitment to move to the technology business sector sends a strong message that Sheridan can establish a viable and sustainable “clean” industry to build jobs and add value to our community. This IT resource, enabled by the data center, will complement efforts by the City of Sheridan, Sheridan County and many others to leverage technology enterprises within the community. Our hat is off to PDS,” said Jay Stender, Executive Director of Forward Sheridan.

“Efforts to support data centers and the digital industry in Wyoming isn’t just about recruiting out of state companies, but also supporting Wyoming’s homegrown companies. We have a very broad set of resources to help our Wyoming companies grow as well as attract large scale players in the industry,” said Bob Jensen, Wyoming Business Council CEO. “We’re excited to hear of Ptolemy’s plans for growth. We’ve followed the development of this company over the past few years and see them as a great example for other digital organizations around the state.”

Ptolemy intends to break ground on their new facility in late June of this year.

Ptolemy Data Systems offers a host of services including Managed Security, Remote Technical Support, Network Monitoring, Disaster Recovery, Secure Data Storage and High-Definition Videoconferencing.
