Virtual call center expected to bring about 100 jobs with benefits to Wyoming
The company, headquartered in Denver, Colo., employs home-based workers in over 1,000 cities throughout the nation. First introduced in the 1990s, the at-home, virtual model is growing three times faster than the traditional brick and mortar industry. Known for delivering high quality service, home-based professionals are currently utilized by well known companies in all industries including communications, financial, retail, travel and leisure, healthcare and government.
Wyoming’s business friendly environment and high broadband connectivity made the state very attractive to the company’s fast-pace growth, said Christopher Carrington, Alpine Access CEO. Moreover, the Wyoming Workforce Development Training Fund, administered by the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, is a critical component of this company’s desire to bring jobs to Wyoming.
“States need to think outside of the box to find ways to improve the economy and help residents enjoy a high quality of life,” said Carrington. “Wyoming’s leaders understand this and have shown tremendous vision in bringing the benefits of a virtual company to the state. We are proud to be partnering with this cutting-edge team and look forward to working together to ensure a prosperous future for Wyoming and its residents."
“The Department of Workforce Services is very excited about Alpine Access and their interest in the Workforce Development Training Fund to establish employment opportunities in the state of Wyoming,” said Joan Evans, Director of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. “The exciting opportunities that Alpine can offer to potential job seekers is that they can overcome some transportation barriers because they can work from home. We can also target some areas of the state that have been hit hardest by unemployment.”
Alpine Access trains at-home workers more effectively and efficiently through its virtual online university. The Workforce Development Training Fund will help the company fund employee training in Wyoming.
“We’re just thrilled to have them coming into the state and offering such a competitive starting wage for employment,” Evans added.
The Wyoming Business Council has been working with the company to bring jobs to the state for more than six months, said Business Council CEO Bob Jensen.
“We are really pleased that Alpine Access has chosen to set up shop in Wyoming,” Jensen said. “This company is a great example of the benefits that the digital economy can bring to Wyoming. They are going to employ people in their own homes with flexible schedules, utilizing our broadband resources.”
Alpine Access will initially create 50 jobs in areas of Wyoming with broadband access and then expand throughout the state. These full-time jobs offer access to a limited benefit program, paid time off, and a corporate matching 401(k) plan. Starting wages will range from $8-$12/hour.
Ideal job candidates are self-starters desiring home-based employment. Alpine Access customer care professionals have strong educational backgrounds, a work history that includes previous customer service related responsibilities and excellent computer and internet skills.
