Dubois, WY – In an article posted on Bloomberg Businessweek recently, Dubois was announced as the 2012 top town in Wyoming for something most residents have known for a while and can enthusiastically agree on. It’s the best place in the state to raise a family.
The article reads: “Known as the town “Where Real Cowboys Work and Play,” Dubois is tucked between the Absaroka and Wind River Mountains along the Wind River. For kids and grown kids alike, the area is as good as it gets for the outdoors, with herds of elk, bighorn sheep, and deer within spitting distance of town. There are events such as rodeos, cultural offerings at the Dubois Museum, and great schools. Casper, the nearest big city (pop. 55,000), is more than a three-hour drive east on U.S. Highway 26.”
The article also touts the schools’ average math and reading scores as reasons for the honors. Fremont 2 superintendent Gerry Nolan stated ” This acknowledgement speaks to the really great teachers, many who have lived their entire lives in Dubois and raised their children here, as well as the families we serve that place a high value on education”.
