Zeitgeist, a New Think Tank/Social Club for Digital People, Launches in New York

Launch Includes Event Series and Digital Culture Blog

Part think tank, part social club, Zeitgeist is an organization for people who work with technology tools and digital content. Zeitgeist is planning a series of upcoming events in New York and has launched a blog, www.zeitgeistnyc.com.

“We were looking for a different kind of group experience -- something more fun than networking and more intellectual and interdisciplinary than an industry-oriented experience,” said co-founder Freyja Gallagher. “We decided to see if we could create it ourselves.”

“New York is full of digital people of all stripes, and we don’t often connect outside of work-for-hire contexts,” said co-founder Tammy Oler. “The goal here is to be creative with the tools we use every day, outside of the constraints of corporate goals or the limitations of non-profit organizations.”

The first Zeitgeist Social will take place on Thursday, September 2, 2010, from 7-10 pm at Sweet & Vicious, 5 Spring Street, New York, NY, 10012. Upcoming events include a panel discussion on the state of digital culture and ideation sessions.
